Massage Therapy

Massage IconTherapeutic Massage

Massage is the manipulation of soft body tissues (connective tissue, Muscle, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s well-being and health.  Therapeutic Massage is used to rehabilitate the muscles and ligaments surrounding injuries or areas where there is chronic or constant pain, as well as reducing stress.  A treatment plan will be designed to the client to get and continue desired results.  This is the only massage that can be done as a 30 minute session focusing on one area of the body, spot specific, with the most pain.

Massage IconCustomized Massage

Every individual is unique and so is their journey to optimal health. Our therapist is trained in multiple modalities (techniques) that can be combined to create a truly unique experience. The 1 hour session can expand on the 30 minute therapeutic session by allowing more time for a specific area and it’s connecting areas, which lets the therapy effects hold longer. Or by focusing on multiple areas. Your therapist will discuss with you what is currently going on and will build a customized session to fit your needs.

Massage IconSwedish Massage

Also known as “classic massage,” Swedish massage is the lighter side and most common of the massages.  This massage uses gentle but firm pressure with long gliding strokes and techniques in the direction of the blood returning to the heart.  Swedish massage decreases the level of muscle toxicity, increases the level of oxygen in the blood, improving circulation, and furthering relation while easing tension.

Massage IconDeep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue is a cross between Swedish and Therapeutic Massage in the way of techniques flow in the direction of the blood returning to the heart.  Deep Tissue is, however, a slow firm pressure focusing on realigning the deeper layers of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue to release chronic muscle tension.  This massage focuses on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive movements.  Deep Tissue Massage is ideal for those who suffer from chronic pain, limited mobility due to repetitive movements, athletic training, and overuse.

Massage IconLymphatic Massage

Also known as Lymphatic Drainage is a form of gentle massage that is not only relaxing but also stimulates the flow of lymph in the body.  This helps to drain swollen tissues, support the body’s immune system, help heal the body from surgery, and aids in the body’s natural waste removal or detoxification.  It is particularly good for edema, pre- and post-plastic surgery, cellulite treatments, and post-liposuction.

Massage IconSports Massage

Sports massage therapy is usually geared toward athletes of every kind, focusing on areas of the body that are stressed and overworked from repetitive aggressive movements.  Sports massage uses specific application of massage techniques along with hydrotherapy protocols, range of motion/flexibility techniques and strength-training principles utilized to achieve a specific goal when treating an athlete.  It helps sooth muscles, promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares the athlete’s body for optimal performance pre and post workout.
